The Cisco IP Phone 8800 series brings the features businesses need today, including PoE technology. This technology allows businesses to cut down on the number of cable drops to each desk, which creates a cleaner look at each workstation while also freeing up space in the server closet. The 8800 series also includes Cisco’s EnergyWise technology, which gives enterprises control over the energy consumption of Cisco devices throughout the office. With this series, businesses can save money throughout the year, while also reducing their carbon footprint.

Cisco Intelligent Proximity recognises nearby wireless devices, importing contacts and histories wirelessly. If a caller is in the middle of a call when he enters his office, he can also move the call seamlessly from the wireless device to his desk phone to continue the call at his desk. Currently Cisco has an additional feature in Beta trial that will allow wireless users to pair mobile devices with phones for video collaboration, allowing for sharing of content during a call.

The 8800 series also includes Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support in WLAN environments. This allows users to move around an office rather than being limited to one location. This feature is especially beneficial in setting up and managing video and audio conferences, since phones can be moved and connected without a physical cable.

The Cisco IP Phone 8800 series is an ideal set of phones for midsized to large businesses. The set of features makes these phones ideal for the technology companies are using today. They also have scalability to meet the increasing telecommunications demands businesses will see in the next few years in wireless and mobile communication, as well as in video and audio conferencing.
